Rhinoplasty allows Dr. Chow to adjust the size and shape of the nose, making changes to the bridge, tip, and nostrils as desired. In Greek, "rhinos" means "nose" and "plastikos" means "to shape" — thus "rhinoplasty" means "to shape the nose." Your nose takes its shape from the bone and cartilage structure under your skin. This structure is remodeled during the nose shaping procedure. The necessary incisions can be hidden inside your nose; in some cases, a very small incision must be made along the "shadow line" under the nose. Dr. Chow achieves the optimal nose shape for you by changing the location of the bone, cartilage, and soft tissue, sometimes adding to or subtracting from these.
