Asian rhinoplasty is slightly different than rhinoplasty in a non-Asian group of population. The Asian patient has a different facial feature and need special techniques in order to treat. In general, Asians tend to be a little bit smaller in the midsection of the face, smaller chins, smaller facial features such as the nose, and so with Asians, they typically come in with the desire to have a more prominent nose. Now the structures are different as well. Asian cartilage and bone in general is smaller as we talk about in general the rule is that they are smaller in features and so in order to build up a nose, you have to use either cartilage and bone from the patient or we use synthetics, which is very commonly used in Asian rhinoplasty.
