Over time, the effects of pregnancy, physical activity, and other factors have an inevitable impact on the shape and position of a woman's breasts. Breasts that were once firm and perky begin to droop and lose volume. At our San Francisco-area practice, Dr. Chow performs breast lift surgery to help women regain their youthful contours along with lasting self-confidence. Dr. Chow has the experience and training required to produce outstanding results with many different styles of breast surgery.
During the breast lift procedure, Dr. Chow carefully removes excess skin and tissue and then molds the breasts into the desired shape, repositioning the nipples as necessary. As a result, breast lift patients emerge from the procedure with firmer, tighter, more youthful looking breasts that perfectly complement their natural body contours.
Some patients elect to combine a breast lift with breast augmentation to achieve their desired results. If you would like to learn more about how you might benefit from a breast lift at our San Francisco plastic surgery practice, convenient to Danville, Walnut Creek, and surrounding communities, please contact Dr. Albert Chow today.
Dr. Chow has mastered a number of specialized breast lift techniques to meet the unique needs of each of his patients. Some techniques allow Dr. Chow to use fewer incisions, while others allow for dramatic aesthetic improvements.
When performing a crescent lift, Dr. Chow removes a crescent-shaped area of skin from above the areola, and then lifts the areola into place and closes the incision. For patients with only minor breast drooping, a crescent areola lift offers an attractive combination of excellent results and minimal visible scarring.
Circular mastopexy, also known as a Benelli or doughnut breast lift, involves removing a circular or doughnut-shaped area of skin from around the areola and then stitching the remaining skin into place. With a circular mastopexy, Dr. Chow is able to conceal incisions in the line between the skin of the breast and the areola, where they are very difficult to see.
Dr. Chow also performs minimal-scar "lollipop" breast lifts. This approach involves placing the incision around the nipple with a vertical line extending down the breast. As a result, there is no need to make an incision underneath the breast, meaning that the patient experiences less scarring and a faster recovery.
In the anchor approach to breast lift surgery, Dr. Chow makes an incision around the areola, down the underside of the breast, and along the crease where the breast meets the chest. With this surgical technique, Dr. Chow can produce the most thorough transformation possible with a breast lift. It is appropriate for women suffering from significant drooping and loss of volume.
