Tummy Tuck Recovery Time

The average down time after abdominoplasty is about 2 weeks. Initially, for the first week you will be very sore, but then progressively start to feel better. Seven to ten days after your surgery, you would return to our San Francisco Plastic surgery office and have your sutures removed as well as all the bandages. Most patients are able to return to work at this point with certain limitations, such as lifting heavy objects, walking long distances, excessive bending, etc. Normal physical activity usually may resume anywhere form 4-6 weeks post surgery.
